Salima Vellani

Salima Vellani is a graduate of The London School of Economics with a BSC (HONS) in management science and an MSC in international finance. Salima has over 20 years of strategic consulting, corporate finance and venture capital experience with such notable institutions as Arthur Andersen Business Consulting at the Stanford Research Institute’s venture capital subsidiary.

In the last five years Salima has made a name for herself in the global branding business by working with some of the most well-known and significant brands in the world in various aspects of their global growth. Her focus has been on capital raising, corporate finance and brand strategy for major brands in emerging markets and has expanded her remit in to growth in both the UK and European markets as well.

Salima, a well respected and rare F&B entrepreneur with a global footprint and ownership across four continents brings her global know-how of the F&B space across the high end, casual and premium fast casual sectors to splendid and is the creative force behind the company's vision and strategic direction.

Mark Hall

Group Operations Manager

Mark Hall

Mark has over 20 years experience in the Hospitality industry, across a wide range of sectors including pubs, restaurants and hotels. As a confident, motivated and passionate individual, Mark has wan entrepreneurial style, delivering top results through structure, creativity and challenge.  Mark has been involved in building and leading brands such as All Bar One, Castle, Dome and Café Rouge, as well as running his own small pub company for eight years. Mark is passionate about developing people and building culture through clear vision setting, communication and execution of strategy In his previous role, as Retail Director for Mitchell's and Butlers, Mark oversaw 110 sites, with a total annual turnover of £130 million. This included leading a head office team of 22 direct reports and a total of over 3000 staff across the sites.

Sarah Fox
Operations Manager Cha Chaan Teng
Sarah Fox

Born in New England and grew up in Edinburgh. Sarah started her Career back home in Vermont in a small French Bistro learning the ropes from busser to waiter. Whilst studying for her BA at Cambridge, Sarah started working at Browns Bar & Brasserie, being her local restaurant. This began a 16 year career with them, opening Edinburgh Browns as Assistant Manager in 1998 and moving to General Manager. During her time at Browns she was proud to be awarded General Manager of the Year accolade on a number of occasions.

A working career in cities across the UK, finally lured to London to join Keith McNally's legendary Balthazar as GM in 2014. Operations Manager opportunity presented itself with Wahaca, to expand their small experimental brands of DF/Mexico and Burrito Mama.

Sarah is passionate about delivering quality in every aspect of business. Building teams of proud, confident, skilled and characterful individuals to deliver our vision to our guests, making a credible and valuable addition to the Splendid Team.

Norbert Swierad

NORBERT HAS OVER 12 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE HOSPITALITY AND RESTAURANT SECTORS. HE PREVIOUSLY WORKED AT MITCHELLS AND BUTLERS WHERE HE RAN SEVERAL VERY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES WITHIN THE O’NEILL’S AND CASTLE BRAND PORTFOLIOS. HE IS KNOWN FOR HIS COMPETITIVE SPIRIT THAT LED HIM AND HIS TEAMS TO BREAK MULTIPLE SALES RECORDS WITHIN MAB. AMONG HIS MANY ACCOLADES AND AWARDS, NORBERT WAS NAMED MANAGER OF THE YEAR FOR THE O’NEILL’S BRAND, AND MANAGED THE HIGHEST TAKING BUSINESS IN THE M&B PORTFOLIO OF OVER 1500 RESTAURANTS AND BARS. AN EXCEPTIONAL TALENT AND TEAM MOTIVATOR, NORBERT APPROACHES EVERY TASK WITH PASSION AND DEDICATION AND CONSTANTLY CHALLENGES HIMSELF AND HIS TEAMS TO STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE. AS OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR ABSURD BIRD, NORBERT'S TASK IS TO HIRE, TRAIN AND OVERSEE A TEAM OF QUIRKY AND ECLECTIC INDIVIDUALS DEVOTED TO SPREADING THE ABSURD WORD. Jake Attridge
Operations Manager - Jack & Alice
Jake Attridge

Jake is an energetic and ambitious individual with 17 years of diverse experience in the hospitality industry working across the UK and Europe. His love for food and drink developed after several years growing up in California and Arizona where hospitality in numerous different forms is a first choice for people embarking on a career out of education. After graduating from The University of Leeds majoring in Philosophy, Jake embarked on his chosen career path. One of his previous roles includes Regional Manager of 13 pubs in the Kent and Surrey area for the Vintage Inns brand. In addition to progressing his career through from dishwasher to Ops Director level, Jake also spends time working on personal projects including the bespoke hospitality mentorship, ‘Your Story starts here’, a development programme for future stars of the industry.

Andrew Hazel
Training Chef - SRG
Andrew Hazel

Andrew has 18 years experience in the hospitality and catering business, starting as a 16-year-old apprentice before going on to run high profile kitchens around the Home Counties and south coast, including businesses taking in excess of 70k per week. More recently Andrew has undertaken a role as Kitchen Training Manager across three of M&B’s biggest growth brands (Castle - Metropolitan brand of 120 eclectic pubs, Nicholson’s - 88 city center traditional British pubs and O’Neill’s - 65 Irish Bars). His last role before joining the Splendid Group was as Senior Kitchen Training Manager for 3 of the high streets premium brands (Browns – 37 Classic British Brassieres, All Bar One – 72 High End Wine Bars, Miller and Carter – 37 Premium Steak Houses). Bringing continuity and structure to HR activity, people development, training plans and team member engagement over the group. Joined up thinking approach to internal succession, capability frame works and leadership programs.

Emily is a Journalism Graduate with over 6 years experience in Marketing and has a true passion for trending food concepts and the restaurant industry itself. Having previously worked with brands like Café Habana (Dubai), PapaRoti, Bateel, The Noodle House and Quintessentially Lifestyle. Emily has a proven track record and international brand experience. Emily’s creative outlook and can-do attitude allows her to effectively build and create unique campaigns from scratch as well as implementing strategies across all digital channels. One of Emily’s key strengths sits within the Social Media stratosphere, ensuring all Splendid Brands are gaining the maximum exposure and presence.
